I've been drinking absinthe for over two hours now, but with no sign of the green fairy.

Is it just an internet hoax? Have you've ever seen the green fairy before?

when they legalized absinthe here i tried all kinds to get that kind of experience but i ended up just getting really shitfaced

though i read absinthe in the US is required to have a limited amount of thujones so it isn't "real" absinthe. it could be a placebo but i noticed the effect was different than if i was drinking whiskey or vodka or whatever.. like it was a thinking man's liquor. also i would've sworn there was a green tint to everything on some of the more potent brands

i drank a bottle split with sickbadthing once. we both blacked out and did a bunch of shit we don't remember. called a bunch of long distance numbers. is that seeing the green fairy? it was real shit from some other country. we were watching a friends house and drank all that shit. then we filled it back up with water and some mountain dew hoping they wouldnt notice. ive had some recently that was supposedly real shit but it just tasted like strong jager and no blackouts or magical ball dances happened.

My real answer would be that's it's like the difference between coffee and tea. Both have similar caffeine contents but one is just more mellow.

Anything you buy from a store will not have the wormwood content to make anything happen. You can buy kits online that will recreate the real absinthe experience that ******* the ingredient separately so you can either add it in or leave it out.

there isn't enough thujone in absinthe to have a psychoactive effect. 100+ years ago it was more popular in France than wine. The myth that it causes hallucinations was started by the French wine industry as a way of demonizing it and getting it off the market.

I don't know, mine says it has all the original ingridients, and I have tasted one from Paraguay, which was 90% alcohol, and that was such an experience, I'm not sure if they have any laws about absinthe production here in the south, but, well lemme take another sip just to make sure...

isn't that the thing though: it's just very high in alcohol, even if it contains all the "original" ingredients? there isn't much else there.
