I wish he'd stop giving minorities high profile jobs. We all know they're stealing supplies. Got my eye on you, Sotomayor.

What Oprah said during an interview for BBC

“There’s a level of disrespect for the office that occurs. And that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because he’s African American. There’s no question about that and it’s the kind of thing nobody ever says but everybody’s thinking it.”

So private enterprise during the recovery hired white people a lot more. Meanwhile white people weren't hit as hard by the economic downturn. Typical Obama for you.

I mean, I remember thinking that in 2008 the election of Obama was going to bring a decent coalition (at least on a few important issues) of reactionary right-wing anti-Obama types and all of these seemingly ideology-driven lefties who admirably fought against the civil rights abuses, warmongering and corporatism of the Bush administration. But the latter group just dropped off the face of the earth as soon as Obama broke his first promise and didn't close gitmo. Even more astoundingly, they have defended his wars and corporatism with the same veracity with which they fought against similar policies only a few years before.
the "he didn't close gitmo" thing is a useless red herring because he cannot unilaterally close it.

he has, however, done nothing to restrict executive power that was expanded so much from 2000 to 2008. that is a huge problem. but did people really expect the executive branch to rein itself in? who gives up power? what he did do was nominate supreme court justices who could ultimately undo the damage done over the last thirteen years. probably not with that idea in mind but it's still the case.

There's little chance that the insurance companies are actually going to be able to offer the same 2013 plans at 2013 rates because now the risk pools have been significantly altered by the PPACA. The proposed "fix" will disrupt the fundamental calculus of the law.

And the people who are complaining about this must have forgotten about the routine termination of policies due to "undisclosed" pre-existing conditions and that the cost of health care premiums doubled in the decade prior to the PPACA.

If 2009-2011 Obama with all of the goodwill and cache he had got behind the closing of gitmo, it would have been closed.

This is the standard argument from those who are still looking to cling to their party bosses when there is no longer an ideological reason to do so and they just cannot admit it, i.e. the practical argument: "but think of the supreme court justices which will be nominated!" And this is almost always presented around social issues. And its a load of crap.

yeah dude what's a social institution? What's culture? What's social mobility? Liberal mumbo jumbo made up my university professors, that's what, they just want to tax all of the hard-workers and redistribute their wealth because they're jealous.

What's more important than money?

This shitshow is remarkable.

First,
Obama basically flat-out lied instead of warning of problems they knew about:

Quote:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama, who has portrayed himself as surprised by technical problems with the government's new health care website, was briefed earlier this year on a consultant's report that warned of possible widespread site failures, the White House said on Tuesday.

There have been weeks of questions about whether Obama understood the depth of the site's problems and let it open anyway, or simply "did not have enough awareness" of them, as the president stated at a November 14 news conference.
http://mobile.reuters.com/article/id...31120?irpc=932

And then the site isn't close to being built.

Quote:
A top technology official in the development of the Obamacare enrollment website said Tuesday that 30 to 40 percent of the online marketplace remains to be built.

Henry Chao, deputy chief information officer at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, testified at a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing Tuesday, where he claimed responsibility for making sure the technology pieces of the site are in place.
http://www.nationaljournal.com/healt...built-20131119

The incompetence is impressive.

some of you are seriously fucking stupid. I'm sorry, I can't think of a nicer way to say it. I'm not sure if it's that you were actually the farthest up Obama's ass and just can't get over your disappointment or what, but half the people posting here just keep repeating ludicrous bullshit untruths, and it makes them look like they are trying to convince themselves of these absurdities in order to maintain their positions instead of accepting unfortunate realities. Obama literally cannot close the prison at Guantanamo Bay. What the arguments by Starla and her ilk amount to (and what her article says) is basically, "well if he really wanted to he would find a way!" This is the kind of dumbshit juvenile thinking that leads people to tell kids they can do ANYTHING they want with their lives if they try hard enough and set their minds to it!!!!, or tell poor people they would have jobs and food if they really wanted to and just worked hard enough. Any suggestion that Obama could have achieved things that are literally impossible with enough will power is just stupid to the point where I have to guess you are just trying to convince yourself

one thing I really just do not understand about this president's critics is why, with all his failures, they feel the need to make up this space cadet bullshit nonsense to reassure themselves that he hasn't done a good job

I posted an interesting article on his ability to close gitmo. You could at least take a look at it before insulting me. Obama is doing an incredibly bad job at being a leader right now, it is even reflecting on his approval rating. I understand why you are upset. Just dont take it out on everyone else.
