Ummm i just tried to open up a file i had saved on a disk and it says file corrupt/cannot be retrieved. am i fucked or is it possibly saved on my computer somewhere?

Try opening it lots of other programs, maybe you can acess some data...

also check your cache - if for some reason it became corrupt while saving (i.e. you took the disk out prematurely), then there's a chance that whatever word processor you used might have an extra copy in a temp directory somewhere.

just try opening it in notepad....that's usually a sure thing with text
