More recently tho dragons dogma is easily the most frustrating game I've played in a while. I'm constantly losing tons of gameplay due to weirdly fluctuating difficulty and environmental hazards. And giant map is great, not being able to travel quickly from point to point, just on-the-leather-express, foot mobbing gets super obnoxious. Fucking get it together capcom

i used to lose my motherfucking mind over NBA Hangtime.
it's an NBA jam ripoff that for some reason i really enjoyed (and still do occasionally). the thing is, you always win. the game is designed to let you open a 20 point deficit and then the AI starts cheating like a motherfucker to make things more exciting and force close games. so essentially i always played to win by the highest margin possible, which made the AI cheating all the more intense. good times

i had a friend in grade school who'd cry whenever he got to a frustrating part. funny thing is i know him to this day and he's the most unemotional person i've ever met. but when it comes to gaming that dude will wig the fuck out

me personally angriest i've been is when i was playing a korean MMO and my clan and i spent grueling hours fighting our way through a dungeon so we could farm enemies. some korean asshole leveled to infinity and tricked out with uber gear started killing the enemies we spent so much time to get to then he killed us. may not sound like a big deal but it really felt like a kick in the dick. i never played the game again after that.

Did you ever get the super suit? That's something I never attempted. Even 30 jumps was impossible for me.

Things I've been enraged with to the point of throwing things:

-Trying to swim up a waterfall in Wario Land (all you have to do is keep pressing jump, but I was 5 years old)

-Playing Mario Bros. Lost Levels. Here's a taste:

You can't use warps to access world 9, and to get worlds A through D, you need to beat the game 8 times.


-Beating Wesker in RE5 on Professional or whatever the one hit KO difficulty is (the person in the video would have died several times).


-some of the cheats and missions on Perfect Dark. CI Defense on Perfect Agent in particular I must have attempted over 100 times:

The Attack Ship was by far the hardest mission in the game, though (it's much harder on N64 with a shitty framerate and lag) This person gets extremely lucky several times. When you leave Elvis alone, he usually dies. :

this is pretty lame but honestly DK64 in Frantic Factory when you had to play the original Donkey Kong game to get some key or something to reach the final boss. For some reason I just couldn't do it. I got so frustrated I wrote Nintendo a letter asking them for help.

There was some other Rareware game where a puzzle or task required you to spin the control stick around at an insane rate of speed. The only way I could figure out how to do it was with the palm of my hand. I beat the stupid thing but literally tore a hole through the dermis of my hand doing it, had to wear a bandage around it for a week

the one i remember most recent is when NBA 2k13 was still broken and offensive rebounding happened to other people, and no matter what team you were playing as or against the CPU would win rebounds by 20+. This would invariably result in nearly every game either being to the wire with me winning about half of them, or out-and-out losses. The Charlotte Bobcats do not outrebound the Spurs. Once this was fixed the game was a lot more natural.

losing to my buddy in the final seconds at madden back at college and his motherwhoring 30 second drives drove me bonkers as well

i have to fess up... i never got past blighttown. and i never played online so i never had to deal with an invasion (well i did get invaded in the depths, but i'm guessing that was in-game?)

i got the Prepare to Die edition though and started from scratch last night. still no invasions which i thought would be frequent in the undead burg since there's alot of no0bs running around. i got to the gargoyles.. game is alot easier as a sorcerer. just blast everything from a distance

well you have to be human to be invaded
but then you get to summon npcs that can basically solo about half the bosses

last night i was in the middle of fighting royal sentinels and i got invaded and the guy came down and started spamming magic at me so i threw all my pyromancy at him and missed because pyromancy is slow as shit and one of the sentinels killed me because they're insanely strong and i was distracted by this asshole
and he was an asshole because after he invaded me game and killed me he sent me a message that said only "cheap host"

apparently using pyromancy is cheap? especially when you roll out of the way of it and then kill me. can't believe my cheap tactics

it's the same as being killed any other way
you have one chance to get your souls/humanity back

it's just extra frustrating because you can somewhat predict the regular enemies actions but you're always at the risk of death and then some unpredictable human enemy comes in your game and typically they have all kinds of uber equipment and massively damaging spells. i was just going to fight ornstein & smough and i wanted to summon solaire to help out and oh no dark spirit snow god (his name was snow something, i forget cause i deleted his angry message) has invaded your world
