hey guys who are more into soccer, have there been any prominent footballers involved in murder investigations or better yet charged with murder because seems like it happens way too much with american football players (but the NBA has all the "thugs")

i think it's about time that they added celtic and rangers to championship, the scottish league is on the level of the welsh one without the old line, and swansea and cardiff are currently EPL sides...i mean i don't get it.

i know about rangers being bumped all the way down to division 3 or whatever, and it's gonna take them a few years to get back into the first tier but damn man, SPL just does not have it

You said it, Trots. Scottish football is a joke. We just can't compete with the money of the EPL. (That sky Television pumps into that league) England are too scared to let Celtic in at the moment, Or even Rangers for that matter. Within a couple of years , Celtic would be right up there at the top pushing for Trophy's which means an English team would slip down the pecking order. I think it'll happen though at some point as money talks and it would make the English Premiership more exciting. Celtic are one of the biggest teams in the UK. First British team to win the European cup. Only last year we beat Barcelona in the Champions league with a squad that cost less than 7 million while Barcelona's was 160 million. Madness.

They'd both lose the money that automatic CL qualification brings and of course there's no guarantee either would jump into the EPL immediately (see Leeds for example). Celtic would have a very good Championship team however. Just because they both have huge support dies not mean they will actually challenge for EPL title, or even qualify for CL. Look at Newcastle or even Liverpool (who are bigger than Celtic or Rangers), even Villa and Spurs. Liverpool and Tottenham have vastly superior teams and struggle hugely to qualify for CL. There best chance would be that their status attracts a seriously rich owner, but even that route is fraught with pitfalls. Their fans would have to get used to not being the big fish in little pond too, a major culture shock. Plus, the Scottish league would lose status and such a move would set a dangerous precedent for other leagues (see: Holland).

1. Australian Rules (faster than rugby, more strategical and physical than soccer, more athletic than gridiron)
2. NBA
3. Test Cricket (none of this pansy limited overs or twenty twenty shit)
4. NHL
5. Every other sport in no order because I don't care.

If Celtic were in the EPL this season and say they finished last and got relegated to the Championship. They'd still pocket around 60 million. That's 4 times more than what they'd get for being in the champions league. You win the league in Scotland and you're lucky to make 2 million. With that type of income and with playing in the EPL, Plus Celtic's history and world renowned fans. They would attract great players and compete for titles though I'd be happy for Celtic to start in the lower leagues and work our way up. It's only fair. The Scottish league would prosper without Celtic as it would give the other teams a crack at winning the league and playing in Europe/Champions league. What team do you support?

oh yeah i'm aware that they don't make a bean for winning the scottish league, it's almost just a way of gaining entry to the CL. if they do gain entry to play in england then it's almost a given that it will be in the Championship; the existing EPL clubs would never agree to 5 teams being relegated to make room for Celtic/Rangers, or for only 1 Championship team being promoted that year being acceptable to those clubs. don't get me wrong they would potentially have enormous potential, but the trick is converting that into finishing top 4 regularly. i don't know enough about the scottish league to have an opinion on what would happen to it when it loses it's 2 biggest teams. certainly it's EUFA ranking would plummet and it's winner would only gain entry to CL qualifying rounds. it's an unfortunate situation for all concerned really and a real solution would be some sort of workable financial fair play regulation. otherwise, big teams jumping from "small" leagues into big, more lucrative leagues is just a variation of the oft-mooted european super-league concept.

Everton

Yeah definitely , I think even Championship teams would have a problem with Celtic/The Football Team Formerly Known As Rangers entering their league too with losing places etc. It's a tough one. I say since there is Welsh teams in, Why not Scottish. Who knows what will happen.if Scotland become Independent (Prolly even less chance of joining English league) A euro league is a possibility. Anyway gonna listen to The Farm's All Together Now! ;-) COYB
