The masses are manipulated by the elites for material and political gain, I think we're all in agreement there, but then the appropriate response to this sentiment, I would think, is that people have value and should be allowed to live in a system that does not actively exploit them - so then if people's rights don't matter, and, I think it's been pretty well established, the elites who exploit the masses are quite literally evil if not simply acting contrary to the interests of the common person, then what actually has value to a person like TOC?

By a bunch of others you mean 3.

There are 9 out of 193 members of the UN who recognize same sex marriage, all of whom have only done so in the past decade -yes the Netherlands did it 2001, but lets not get awfully pedantic-- I would say we are right up there with the leading countries considering how much larger we are then all the other countries who have adopted it and how much more legal wrangling it takes to get 50 states in line.

Also lets not start bragging about how forward thinking these countries are. Just as one example Iceland is still making excuses to hunt whales and is trying to enact laws that will ban all porn, yeah that's some forward thinking shit right there.
