what kind is that again? I mean what does it look like? Do you need any special stuff for it or anything or can you just dump it into a fish tank?

they have to be alone, cos if not they beat all the other betas up
theyre the ones with the pretty long tails
i've had them in tanks without the oxygen thingie and they've been ok

it's true. my oscar has personality. when i wake up in the morning he greets me at the top of the tank, swims around and makes faces at me. it probably means he just wants food from me, but he realizes i'm there. he shy's away from strangers. when he's mad or upset he'll uproot plants, move rocks, etc. he's a neurotic fish. he loves having me gaze upon him. he'll also go into this 'stalking' mode where he pretends he's invisible and plays dead. i think one day, he's going to eat me. so yeah. he goes through little mood swings. he's been through alot with me.. it's funny. i saved his life a few times, and he acts different because of it. i am his hero.

he da bomb! i seriously reccomend oscars as fish-pets. i've grown so attached to mine, and i never thought i would get attached to a pet fish.

they're pretty hardy fish. goldfish tend to die in days/weeks. i've had an oscar and a convict that have lived over 3 years so far now. the oscar has had some real close calls too, and lived through them all only to get bigger and stronger.

normally it wouldnt bother me but i had fed it a half hour before and he was fine

it's VERY hard to kill any kind of fancy (not the 79 cent feeder ones) goldfish in a tank with good water circulation. courtney is 4 years old and counting, and she was a feeder fish!

I used to raise bettas as my friends did. They would bring theres over and we'd have fishfights. Its cruel, and I was only 18 when I did this. I've been living with the guilt ever since. I hope God isn't a fish. This thread has brought back memories that drugs and alcohol have suppressed for many years. Damn you and your fish.
