Yeah definitely. I had so much hope. This show filled a void in my life and then it slowly and painfully started reappearing. I'll never be the same with TV shows now. I suffer from commitment issues...I watch for the first two seasons and then freak out and can't watch any more.

Damon Lindelof said in interviews that year that Jack didn't die at the end of the last episode. That the intention of the last scene was to convey a sense of impending doom and dread. It was a way to show the audience that for the island family the other shoe was always about to drop, that because of their Other ties they were never really safe, whether that meant being gunned down, arrested, etc. Lindelof wanted the audience to feel that kind of dread right at the last moment that the show was on the air. But his intention was not for people to assume it meant Jack died.

i stopped watching when it became obvious what was happening on the island (between season 3 and 4 i think) but the writers were still approaching the show like the audience had no idea what was happening.

that's just disrespectful.

you're being disingenuous if you claim to know what was "going on" even after watching the whole series

Lost is a great show. It does drop off in the last two seasons but my issues with it are not the same as most other people's (that it got too fantastical or ridiculous), I just think the pace seemed kind of rushed as they realized they were running out of screen time to do everything they wanted. I give zero fucks that none of the mysteries were solved, it's much more fun speculating forever than being told what is going on.

No. It was terribly easy to put the pieces together. Something g the writers did not feel it necessary to have the characters do. It became mind numbingly repetitive.

i agree, season 6 especially felt like they were "answering" things for the sake of answering them as opposed to having a natural progression.

i still love lost. it didn't really bother me how it ended, i was just glad it did and that it happened on the show's terms, for better or worse. the journey was fun.
