I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a Christian, but you don't need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there's something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school. SHARE IF YOU AGREE!!!!

My parrot, Squawky McSquawkerson loved this title. When I first lined his cage with it, he pooped on it like he would with any ill-conceived, narrow-minded, piece of tripe (I usually use People or The National Enquirer). But then something curious happened. I noticed that Squawky had begun to read the poop-stained pages in between playing with his cuddle bone and yelling "MORE TOAST, MORTAL!" (He loves toast). Anyhoozle, after a few days, I noticed Squawky's demeanor had changed. He no longer resigned himself to saying things like "pretty bird" and imitating the vacuum cleaner. Not only had Mr. S. grown more solemn and determined during this period, he had also begun to speak exclusively in the voice of Texas Governor, Rick Perry...saying things like: "Braaaawk, Adam and Steve, Adam and Steve."

Confused and worried, I took him to the parrot doctor, where I was told that parrot conversions are more common than we think. Apparently, even if parrots are brought up in progressive households, as many as 54.2 percent end up as hate-spewing, bible revisionists...or Fox news anchors. As sad as I was to hear this, the advice from the vet was to "just let him be his own bird. His own intolerant, stupid, hateful bird."

Since then, Squawky has moved out and started his own gay reversal clinic (Squawk Away The Gay) for other tropical birds, and runs a weekly prayer group. We still see each other from time to time, mostly when I pass him while he's deep into his brand of feathered street evangelism. And even though we disagree on the issues, he was still my bird once, and I hold onto those memories. Peace be unto you, Squawky.

So, while I can't recommend this book for humans, it can be a life changing experience for birds with a brain the size of a peanut. Five stars.

dude told me, in all seriousness, that 1) he wished "they" wouldn't flaunt it and 2) same sex attraction is not found in nature and, although he doesn't have a degree in anything and certainly nothing that would give him the expertise to say that, he's "like, really into studying zoology and botany".
