I'm jealous of cute girls who can play an instrument well and write well, like Joanna newsom. Not jealous of lds's ability to post a video. Not that I'm aware of. I have a limited capacity for jealousy like most people and it all gets used up before I get to people like Luke.

*points up* I'm talking about the two people who voted that they are engaged or married to a netphorian. I don't know who they are.

So 21 are or were at some point attracted to another boarder. That's much more than I'd have guessed. *stilllearningtheinternet*

Most people here admit to having very limited real life social contact so I would have thought it would be more

And yeah Luke I know recording is hard work. You know when I met him my husband was an audio engineer who had taken out a window in a bedroom at his house to make the room a home studio right? :P.

nah there's no courage really. i learnt the song in an hour and posted it for a friend. then i posted the video a thread devoted to throwaway moments. i can't believe someone would keep going on about it as if it ought to have been some kind of amazing production

this whole conversation is just weird

Nah it's easy. Compress EVERYTHING and then just turn it all up until the guitars sound like chainsaws. Then bounce it, run it through an oversampler, compress it again and you're done!

No. That's definitely both un Christian and too musically adventurous for me. I write ballads. Horrible, predictable, boring, cringeworthy ballads, with awful, high school journal keeper lyrics. They have no redeeming features whatsoever and 358 days of the year I can't stand to listen to any of them. The other days I think they're the best music written in the last decade and if I could just find the courage to share them and lose a bit of weight maybe I could make a meagre living from being a performer. But mostly I am resigned to the truth that I can't write music that I like because I'm no good at songwriting. Hope springs eternal though that something might change, so I try, again and again. And it's all awful. All of it. I'm too embarrassed to even let my own husband hear it most of the time. Trots is right that I am a bit jealous of people who are confident enough in their own abilities to share them with other people. I lack that. I mean I play hymns at church and everything. But my own music. On some days I would choose death over having them shared with other people.
