Again, science is not changing, it is a method if investigation. You sound like one of those people who is like EVOLUTION IS NOT FACT ITS JUST A THEORY. Science seeks to be descriptive, and it acknowledges that new information changes our understanding of shit. That's like the fucking point of the scientific method and peer criticism and shit. It doesn't seek to paint an objective picture of the universe. Religion on the other hand, is prescriptive. It tells you exactly what the universe is like in objective terms.

I don't know what the fuck makes you think religion doesn't change though. Christians in 2012 are absolutely nothing like Jesus' followers at the time of his death. Within a few decades of the crucifixion, there were at least dozens if not hundreds of different religious views on Jesus and none of them got along with each other. Religion changes all the time to accommodate the changing world. Catholicism is a religion with feudal cultural values. Protestantism is a religion with capitalist cultural values.

Catholicism – hierarchical religious structure where submission to and acceptance of authority are central tenets. Very rigid structure of power where the tiny elite minority have sway over the rest of the population, and this is morally good.

Protestantism – anyone can walk the correct path to God if he works hard. The individual and the individual's interpretation of religion and the world is important. You don't need superiors to tell you how shit is and what to do, all you need to do is read the Bible and figure it out yourself. Monetary gain is morally good

what I said is correct. Science is not some body of facts we accept as a map of the universe's workings. It's a method of investigation. Only people who don't understand science or scientific evidence think that it's some sort of problem that "science changes." It's a positive thing that science allows for new conclusions when new information comes to light. Go ask a fucking scientist if you want this is high school shit.

h0w can we trust sienz wen it dosnt stay the saim!??!!?!

that's some fucking philistine creationist horseshit

And that’s what I believe. I know there’s always a debate between those who read the Bible literally and those who don’t, and that I think is a legitimate debate within the Christian community of which I’m a part. Now, whether it happened exactly as we might understand it reading the text of the Bible? That, you know, I don’t presume to know.

dear repubs, thats how you answer that question. if you absolutely must point out that you are not a scientist at the very least resist the urge to say it twice.
Robble.

Pretty fucking different from Rubio's answer.

does that mean you don't like the idea of this so you are going to tell me I am wrong without actually explaining why whatsoever?

It seems pretty fucking obvious. I'm not exactly the first person in history to suggest that economic underpinnings control the rest of society and culture

Is it? Maybe in America, not in Europe. The Calvin vs. Weber debate among Protestants is very much alive.

I'm not really sure you understand what I said, I don't know how it is possible to argue that Protestantism, humanism/the Renaissance, and whole bunch of other contemporary phenomena were not influenced by, if not literally caused by the transformation from feudalism to market economies

I don't argue that. I wonder how you can characterize/reduce/generalize today's Protestantism as a religion with capitalist values.
