But religion doesn't really change. The book is there. Science is always changing. Einstein's theory of relativity was thought to be concrete, but was proven wrong. Just an example.

It was an example. I never followed up on it. But science is ever changing. Religion is based on faith, so despite evidence they insist it's just a way to test their religion. There's nothing wrong with what he said.

It seriously does matter, particularly to the religious. At least one question at the most recent debate was "How important a role does religion play in your life?" or something to that effect, because a lot of people care about that shit.

It's not a matter of being a scientist, its a matter of possessing a worldview that is grounded in rational thought. There's nothing wrong with believing that "god" works his magic through natural phenomena. There is absolutely something wrong with saying the earth is 6,000 years old
