On a more pleasant note, I dig 2013 for PS3. The skating system is taking some getting used to but individual players handle much closer to how they skate in real life. So long trusty one-timer, hello drive to the net garbage goals.

nhl/mlb/nfl games kind of lost me
the mid-90s shit is so entertaining

its not a nostalgia snob thing though because i fucking love the entire 2k series of NBA games
dont know why the other sports cant get it right

you know what i mean

i really liked the franchise system on madden cierca 05-06 but they started to over complicate it with all kinds of dumb little doo dads that weren't important to anything at all "LOCKDOWN CORNER" like shut the fuck up

i think the reason NBA games do franchise better is because there's less players and it's more fun to swap guys around, and has more of an effect. i was absolutely beside myself when i discovered nba 2k12 let me control all 30 teams.

it's really fun blowing up a team on nba 2k12

i did it to dallas because i pretended cuban was that smart but i'm sure he'll ride dirk into the twilight of consistent mediocrity and low seed runs

with a really solid team around him he could go another year or two at most, like timmeh. but yes. i mean, beyond that, four, five years down the line 39 year old dirk and a bunch of scrubs trying to scramble for an 8 seed because cuban's too proud to destroy it

i would trade him now, since that team has nobody on it.

yeah this is videogames dude
for one dirk is only like two seasons from winning a title
and for like. third, in one of my 2k franchise saves he is only like 2 months from winning a title

wiat four? three months?
something like that

either way, the big german won a title while being the secendoary option behind 94 rated PG Sean Casey #69 on the Celtics

i renamed my whole draft classes after characters from the HBO television program "The Wire."

SF Omar Little, Philadelphia 76ers
C Herc Hauk, Detroit Pistons
SG Jimmy McNulty, Houston Rockets (personality: Unpredictable)
PG Tommy "The Mayor" Carcetti, Sacramento Kings

we're totally ruining this thread

Good tastes- I always preferred the Genesis version over the SNES. I'm in.

Red Wings are going to be terrible, unless the salary cap drops like 10 million and teams have to shed elite players and the Wings are buyers and get a top 3 d-man and a top-6 forward. But that isn't happening.

I do like the Colaiacovo signing, tho.

it's kind of frustrating how just skating down the wing, any single player can blow by any single defencemen, catching them flat-footed, every single time. i'm sure i will learn to adapt on defence, but it's pretty annoying.

i like how skating agility is affected at high speeds, but things seem a little wonky when moving slowly, too, particularly without the puck.

i'm awesome at shootouts, though. you can really roof it if goalies stay deep. i went 5-0 with 14 goals for, and 3 against to start out.

NHL '95 for genesis and snes are both quite different and awesome, but nhl '94 for super nintendo takes the cake. i would confidently challenge anyone in the world to '94. i still play it probably 50 hours a year.

i feel like i'm still struggling with the fundamentals in nhl 13, especially on defence. that said, i'm 11-6-2 in online games, and 14-2 in online shoot-outs. not bad.

not bad at all...

I haven't had much time with it to even jump online yet, but I like how the forecheck is realistic as well as the broader options on strategies. The skating is just a matter of adjustments and after I had my fun blazing around with each guy I found less is more to create a good attack. But I'm having a hell of a time with face-offs, old tricks aint working.
