I mean he'll have to learn to be respectful about differences of opinion...his brother and father are omnivores. But if it is important to him to not eat animals...I want him to know that I respect that preference because I respect him.
We've been going through this for about a year now. My daughter is coming to understand how animals are killed as we discuss her favorite foods, beef, chicken, and turkey. Although she is horrified by the fact that they are killed, she has also said she still wants to eat them because they taste good. If she changes her mind.... I'd support that too.

Yeah I dunno. When I went through my existential crisis/counter culture phase I was given Marx and Chomsky and Descartes. It made me realize nothing is new under the sun I guess, and that changing the way things are if you don't like them, is a hard and complicated task. I think they way you support your children obviously requires discernment.

I've explained to my 3 year old that his diet will need to be more varied from now on for him to be properly nourished, he seems fairly accepting so far. He ate a lentil burger, peas and cucumber last night for dinner which normally he'd just nibble at and turn his nose at.

If you were a full time stay at home parent you would grow to hate those things too. I didn't say I don't clean or respond to my children's needs. I'm just aware that adding another family member that needs my attention and that I have to clean up after isn't a good idea for me right now.

I think most people hate cleaning and neediness. I said that in the context of choosing between cats and dogs. I love both but you don't have to do as much for a cat and right now that seems pretty good to me. I'm doing enough already.

I understand that Christians are human, but most of the Christians I've met are what you call Sunday Christians. Nice on Sunday and back to their bullshit on Monday. There are also the ones who can be assholes six days of the week and ask for God's forgiveness on Sunday.

I had a great therapist once, whose office felt wonderful to me. She had an ionic breeze, and the air felt very nice and clean. She also had some candles going, and soft music in the waiting area. The place felt like a refuge. I wish I could go back there.
