Hey psych people, aren't these things generally considered to be a rather antiquated way of gauging intelligence? The idea of reducing all of cognitive thought to an integer is sort of stupid

yeah, but there is a truth to problem solving skills being indicative of general intelligence. this test is all pattern recognition and solving multiple things at once. but, sure - there are multiple intelligences and this only shows one side of the story. if you are an audio or kinesthic learner you will not score as high. i'm a kinesthic learner myself.
