it is cheaper to give people checks than to put them in institutions, and in institutions they will have no chance of getting better

you just seem to have no compassion for what it takes for someone to break down and take help, it's not something i want or 99% of people with disabilities want. should i just have slept in a ditch and begged for money?

again these are people who worked long enough to be eligible for federal benefits, not SSI (state) funding, meaning they had enough work credits where they qualified, and haven't been on disability all of their adult lives. not that that makes a huge difference but if you think people on SSDI are "lazy" you can see that they worked when they could and didn't become "lazy" - they became disabled, and that's why the program is there.

there are always people who game any system but the majority of people on SSDI arent spending their money on booze and bullshit because they are just barely getting enough to pay for food and a place to stay, if they are even that lucky. if they are spending it on booze and/or drugs then the problem is drug addiction and not the SSDI program
