are those state requirements, also because generally speaking a major city in texas is going to require that of special education departments but Herpaderp, TX needs someone to help the kids go to the bathroom and feed themselves and etc and don't exactly have a competitive job market.

Being a teacher in Texas, there are confidentiality laws (FERPA and IDEA) that you can lose your teaching certification, have the district and/or yourself sued for talking about student records/incidents to someone else that doesn't have an educational need to know. That being said, of course teachers are notorious about sharing what difficult students have done with their teammates and/or families.

I've been tempted several times (especially last year with a particularly violent student) venting on here but it's not the greatest idea.

Are you an assistant/teacher's aide? What state are you in? Do you have to have a certification? I mean everyone vents at home to their family, even if it isn't really ok, but putting it online where there's a physical record of the vent is a whole other thing because you could possibly in the worse case scenario lose your job/certification.
