Kind of like The Shaggs or even The Frogs.

It isn't about hilarity, it's about the balls these guys had to just go out there and do it, with little care if it was "bad" or not. And possibly challenge the audience to ask ourselves what exactly is bad music?
I'm all for punk rockin' or whatever but I draw the line here.

Oh, you know what, I misinterpreted you. I thought you meant all the verses on the album that were quiet. Not specifically the song Quiet...

Do you need to be a dick about it?

you have a well-documented habit of tediously belabouring trivial points. so when there's a risk of you dragging the entire internet down with yet another neckbeard debate over semantics, yes, it is entirely necessary to bring out the firepower

Ya'll saying you like Oceania as good as or better than Machina II are smoking some whacky weed.

Machina II was the best stuff they wrote since MCIS. I'm not going to try to explain why it's better than Oceania, because as a Pumpkins fan, you should just know.

every pumpkins album is supposed to be better than the one before it. all billy need to do is make just one more amazing album than everything after that will be better than that. problem solved.

In the last couple years the only SP albums I really did love listen to was PI and Machina II. I dont know why I cant appreciate all the others as I used too, maybe I got bored of them from listening so much before.
Ahh and really enjoyed re-listen TFE too a few months ago.

Adore 5/5?

I love that album, but it's clearly flawed. Awaiting acerbic and predictably negative response.

Adore is pretty hit and miss but the production is great. Whereas ever since then his biggest problem has been shitty production. The songs themselves remain hit and miss IMO. But what they do to them in the studio mostly ruins them.

I find it to be one of his best works. The lyrics are some of the best he ever wrote and there is ton of emotion in a majority of the songs. Not every song is a winner ok, but overall it's a fantastic listen and addition to the pumpkin catalog.

Yeah davin would say it doesn't "rawk" but who gives a fuck what that dumbfuck thinks.

I only graded true pumpkin albums, zwan shit and bills solo work. Anything after TFE doesn't count. Not that its rating from me would be something positive anyway.

As an album, sure. Machina II wasn't an album. With the way Billy felt when he put them online, I doubt he cared much for how he organized them. It was Billy & Jimmy at their creative peak though. For the first time since PI, they were able to just put out songs without it having to be part of a typical album arc etc.

including the original tracks from the EPs, deleting the alt. versions of songs from Machina and taking into account the shitty audio quality, then Machina II is superior to Machina. indisputably.

I'm listening to it again and noticing a few things..

'To Who knows where' is 'Go' part II

The first track ends with him singing 'believe in me' a few times. OMFG are there any more SP references?

machina II has so many good songs, it's kind of unfathomable to me that people can rate it lower than machina I
