The Buzz festival thing was pretty cool. It rained halfway through so we were able to leave and come back if we wanted. So, all of us piled in the car and went to a nearby liquor store. We waited in the line to get back in and it was so long, we were able to drink a lot. Garbage played a too-short set but they thanked everyone for sticking around, right before playing 'Only Happy When It Rains'. Two of the people I was with left before Garbage because they were tired/drunk. Then my other friend left after or during fun. I'm not sure which because I got really drunk off vodka and left after like three Silversun Pickups songs. That is why I rarely drink at shows.

Ringo Deathstarr played in a small bar in Lawrence, KS. I got there really early, way too early, and they played with some bands called JabberJosh and Brainstorm. I didn't watch either openers because I was already tired and wanted to read the book I was reading outside the venue. R. Deathstarr themselves were only OK; their roadie quit the day before so dude had to change his own guitars so it kind of deflated the performance.

Saw Crocodiles tonight. Shit was dope. Talked to Brandon (lead singer) about merch but they had run out of t-shirts; told me to email him about it and see what he could do. Short set list (maybe 9 songs), no encore. Maybe at most 50 people in attendance. Lead singer straight up called out someone for being on Facebook during the second to last song. He was like, "HEY EVERYONE LOOK AT THAT GUY ON FACEBOOK. THAT GUY, RIGHT THERE, EVERYONE LOOK AT HIM" while the dude is completely oblivious because, well, he was on his phone. When the dude finally realized it, he was probably feeling two inches tall.

Will see a bunch of great German/Austrian bands over the next few months.
Two Gallants twice in December.

And I got tickets for the Status Quo reunion show in London in March, where I'm going with my dad (obviously).

Saw the Twilight Sad on the 15th, which was a rad show. I got there just as Errors were finishing. I purposely got there as late as possible because I didn't like the opening bands.

Bruce Springsteen on the 17th was dope; they opened with a cover of "Kansas City" and the show was a lot of fun, despite being in the nosebleeds.

Drove to Chicago for James Iha on the 20th; that was a good show and the opener (Scott Lucas and the Married Men) was good, as well. I got to meet him after, which was dooope.

this was one of the best performances I have ever seen. however it was by far the worst audience I have ever had the misfortune to be a part of. It was basically 2 and a half hours of mind melting guitar solos, and no one would stand up. Second song was Powederfinger, I got on my feet and started rocking out, and during the second verse some old lady behind me told me to sit down. There were old people on their cell phones fucking everywhere through the whole show. Every time there was any sort of noisy breakdown or extended feedback, a shit ton of people ran for the exits. At the end of Walk Like a Giant, there was somewhere around 10 minutes of crazy distortion/feedback jamming, and the guy next to me put his fingers in his ears after a few minutes and walked out, muttering, "This is too much! This is toooooo much!" Some people started yelling, "Play a song!" The old dude across the aisle from me fell asleep. It was fucking retarded. If Crazy Horse ever tours again, I will be on top of my shit and make sure I get pit seats because maybe all these retarded sexagenerians can afford to pay 100 bucks for a ticket and not enjoy a show but I can't.
