he doesn't sing on "don't" though. he ruined his voice doing that at the beginning of the tour. they've got a guest vocalist for that.

Something pretty cool happened tonight. I went to see Wild Nothing, and I went to buy their EP, "Golden Haze". All of their merch is super cheap, which is awesome. They were selling the LP of their debut for only $10. Anyways, I went to buy it, and on the price list they had the Golden Haze "Limited Edition" for $10 and standard for $8 (limited is clear red, standard is black). I asked for the limited but the guy at the table told me they had sold all of them, so I bought the standard instead. But when I got home and opened up the record, apparently they did still have some copies the guy didn't know about, because he gave me one.

This came in the mail today. Definitely one of the nicest records I've ever purchased. You can't see it in the picture but the thing comes wrapped in a silk screen print with a wax seal of the Sacred Bones symbol on it. Fucking awesome. I got #15 out of 300.

one of the things i always thought was incredibly cool about kid a is that it had no lyrics booklet and thom slurs lyrics so fucking incomprehensibly it's like the equivalent of impressionists or abstract in art. you can make what you want of it, it's just suggestive, emotional music
i feel this way about go tell fire on the mountain too the lyrics are what you hear because i think we all hear the same vibe coming from it, it's about love and freedom and the torture of knowing its kisses and having it so out of reach |
