Default Report: 83 percent of doctors have considered quitting over Obamacare

Report: 83 percent of doctors have considered quitting over Obamacare

Eighty-three percent of American physicians have considered leaving their practices over President Barack Obama’s health care reform law, according to a survey released by the Doctor Patient Medical Association.

The DPMA, a non-partisan association of doctors and patients, surveyed a random selection of 699 doctors nationwide. The survey found that the majority have thought about bailing out of their careers over the legislation, which was upheld last month by the Supreme Court.

Even if doctors do not quit their jobs over the ruling, America will face a shortage of at least 90,000 doctors by 2020. The newly passed health care bill increases the demand for physicians by expanding insurance coverage. This change will exacerbate the current shortage as more Americans live past 65....

less doctors means more dead people and that's the plan as I've been saying since '99...these eugenicist elite don't take days off.

At this point, only an energy paradigm shift can save us now and I'm not holding my breath on that. All this utopian bullshit the lib-progs have foisted on us might have a chance if say the cost of energy is reduced to pennies on the dollar.

btw...i have a step-mother who's been the head nurse at Stanford hospital for over 20 years and I've had plenty of dinners with cardiologist, neurologist and other impressive western medical types and I'm struck by how blunt they are when they say Obamacare will force care to be rationed. period.

So, this poll comes as no surprise.

And... it doesn't even address the small business owners looking at the rising cost of keeping and hiring employees, so, those dismal new jobs numbers comes as no surprise as well.

at some point you can't blame Bush for the economy...it's Obama's now and has been for awhile despite Team Obama's claims to the contrary and thus why they need 4 more years to fix the big mess they can't fix.

I suppose even some of you will buy that bullshit. but whatever...we're fucked unless...some paradigm shift or something.

You're right. But many of them will now retire early or quit their practice and go overseas, which the top doctors already do for their services, so, lots of transition opportunities for those able to move around. Granted not all doctors can, just most of the best ones.

you're a fucking moron, there are tons of medical professionals who have been practicing for decades and are in favor of Obamacare and do not think care will be "rationed" because of it, but you live in dimension loopty doopty doo where all you need is anecdotal evidence from your ignorant step mother and some 100% fabricated statistics to justify what the voices in your head tell you.

get well soon,

Look, there's some parts of "obamacare" that are shitty. Like doctors getting paid based on "how good they are" - so one can assume doctors might be more willing to drop people who are obese, or smoke, or won't take their blood pressure meds or antidepressants. Especially psychiatrists, where some of the most sick people hate their doctors and are paranoid and won't do anything they say. Why don't you harp on that? This is a red herring.

That's been going on for awhile, yah, but its going to get much worse. Doctors need to hire front desk people and nurses and these people now spend too much time being accountants essentially. Waste of time, money, resources which all figures into how many patients a doctor can see in a day.

actually yah,

this poll of doctors and the new jobs numbers do go together because socializing the health care industry is 1/7 of the entire economy. The legislation is a choke hold on whatever recovery could be had at this point and the uncertainty of it alone in the Supreme Court was enough to freeze hiring.

i mean, make up your mind. will quasi-socialized medicine cause more jobs (more accounting, which is what that posted seemed to be saying) or less?

I see the problem here. You actually believe socialized medicine can altar human nature as you've accurately described.

and please, don't fucking repeat talking point platitudes like this one: streamlined healthcare will mean less accounting, not more

straight outta MSNBC. c'mon. that is patent bullshit. You got 13,000 pages of NEW legislation and they're just getting started really and all that includes the bill itself, the new IRS laws, Health and Human Services and many other agencies. just wonderful, health care to resemble a visit to the post office or the DMV.

It might take a generation but if the states don't opt out (which many will try) and create a constitutional crisis to upend this thing, we'll end up like some of those european countries where old people just die in the street.

Economics is soft science. It's the original form of social science you might say just within the framework of currency and trade.

Strike up a conversation with small-business owner and ask them what this legislation is going to do to their bottom line. I've already heard about 4% higher for medicare on them and other restrictive measures and simply put hiring someone is getting too costly.

doesn't it make sense that AFTER all the wrangling is done and things are streamlined, there'd be less accounting?

and if that's false, doesn't that make more jobs?

i receive medicare. health care costs go up, just like everything else does. what is wrong with asking for more money for things when costs go up on everything

again i don't know shit about the economy and don't pretend to. but from this side of the fence, medicare is a pretty damn good thing and the bottom line reason why i'm not in an asylum somewhere for the rest of my life.

pretty sure most disabled (or formerly disabled) and old people would agree with me, except maybe some of the ones who could afford healthcare out of pocket without medicare

you know omega its possible not every single thing that happens fits into your conspiracy theory, and it might make more sense if you didnt have to always find a way to make it fit.
