Please don't sabotage this thread. It's not much to ask. Just keep it about trip hop.

i've never 'sabotaged a thread' before but not doing it was a bit much to ask in this case

I have found them to be more accessible than Massive Attack. But I agree. They can be kind of dull at times. They lack the edge that Portishead and Massive Attack have. Some of their stuff kind of borders on lounge music. It makes for good background music moreso than the legends of trip hop.

sounds like morcheeba but i never really thought they were dull, they definitely don't have much of an edge

I like Morcheeba's singles. But it's hard for me to get into whole albums by them like I can with Portishead. Morcheeba are one of the few trip hop groups I have discovered that aren't known for being gloomy and depressing. They tend to be upbeat.

If you like Morcheeba you should check out Zero 7. They have a similar vibe. It's mellow trip hop will soul influences.

The trip hop that I tend to like the most has a real film noir feel to it. Like something straight out of a 1950s movie.

I like Kruder and Dorfmeister, are they trip hop?

An ex of mine said he was into trip hop and he bought a lot of stuff off a label called Ninja Tune. Up, Bustle and Out - One Colour Just Reflects Another was one I liked. He was into Herbaliser I think they were called, I wasn't so into that though.

My exes were such fucking hipsters.
