I honestly thought all the hoopla about the eBay sighting had more to do with the possibility of getting higher quality audio of the album. I didn't realize it was so much about finding the "holy grail" or whatever.

I can't judge. I just don't share everyone's enthusiasm.

I'm sorry guys to interject being a new fuck and all - but may I ask....of the original 25 copies of M2, how many of them have changed hands via sale/auction that we know of since they were originally sent out? The only one I've read about changing hands is the Q101 copy.

Does a higher quality copy exist for download than what is on the Q101 site?

it's not hard to understand why someone would want a copy of a vinyl (triple?) album that was only pressed into 25 records.

Man have you even followed the Pumpkins at all? M2 was the last true Pumpkins album ever released... and it was the first big album to be released for free solely over the internet... That fact alone makes it a hugely desirable album to any music aficionado... Its even been mentioned in text books and shit.

If you cant see how that item would be largely desired by collectors then your a fucking moron.

I think what really pissed me off was an email he sent out last winter ragging on HU and Netphoria and telling his blog contributors not to talk about Kerry Brown or billy's girlfriend, etc etc. Monte really really hates HU (which is silly because HU is a fairly "positive" site). The real reason is because billy demonizes them and that puts them on Monte's shit list.

there are several other websites that are part of the official SP "circle" that are well managed and don't seem to require of their webmasters that they kiss bill's ass and police the fan community for him. hint hint, you don't have to be a tool to stay connected to the band.

So what exactly did this email Monte send out say?
