It's like somebody took a classic piece of literature and gave it the George Lucas video game visual movie treatment. Why all the CGI? There's a point where it's distracting.

also, does anybody feel like the tunes in the trailer just don't seem to fit the era that the film is set? I hope it has a traditional score and that's just early marketing

no "george lucas treatment" here, it's just a highly saturated, visually rich movie. and you don't think the music was included to particularly contrast the period?

please think harder

I doubt the music in the trailer is anything like the final soundtrack. Probably either just for the trailer or a pop song that ends up in the credit roll or title sequence, but never shows up during the film.

Unless they're doing some kind of genre mash up like that 90s era Romeo & Juliet film (also with Leonardo i think).

Gawd.... Knights Tale.. thinking about the movie isn't as bad as thinking about the fact that I watched it once

i'm not sure why you missed that detail since you claim to have watched the trailer which prominently features "THE DIRECTOR OF ROMEO + JULIET
MOULIN ROUGE"

just something to think about

I'm in the minority when I say the 2000 movie with Paul Rudd was the best Gatsbv. Now this shit comes out but of course I will be there on opening night.

I hear they are also remaking Red Badge of Courage. Let's take bets on how "gruesome" they make it instead of focusing on the inner turmoil that I felt was the focus of the book.

I also quite enjoyed the 2000 adaptation as well and will ALSO be there to see the new one.

F. Scott was kinda perfect when it comes to this kind of story and I can't wait to see it.

Yup. As far as cliché'd "classic" authors go, FSF is one of da best.
