And I honestly can't make up my mind whether I liked it or not.
The plot was weak, the movie dragged on and on and on, and the aliens were portrayed moronically. However, the acting was good, the kids weren't nauseatingly cute, and the whole water glasses-asthma-batting-etc thing all tying up in the end was cool. And I do like that it was about faith towards God, although it could've been better scripted. Anyhow, I'm glad I only paid a dollar to see it. It wasn't worth the usual seven-to-eight bucks. |

i'm still not sure, if i liked it...it was kinda creepy. esp. the daughter creeped me out. i don't know why...and i could have done without that whole "faith to god" stuff, but it wasn't as bad as i thought it would get

I have a love / hate relationship with this movie. I think the message is sly to stick into what people are going into thinking its just a sci-fi piece and then it starts rumbling about faith and stuff, which doesn't seem heavy handed in the script at all. I LOVE how its basically "Independence Day" or "V" but from the perspective of the extras while Wil Smith goes off and saves the world - very cool little take on the forumla. And M. Night's directing and dialogue is always top notch.
But . . . but . . . dammit. The aliens in the films are like: "We have mastered intergalatic space travel and mind control yet we cannot fathom these earth substances called wood, locked doors and water." ARGGGGHHHHHH!!! But in the end, that's just a nitpick and its done with as much style as M. Night has ever done. Which in the end gives the flim a good solid B, which is what the flick is at its heart anyway . . . |

m. night shamylon or whatever is UNBELIEVABLY overrated. sixth sense was predictable, signs went all god on everyone and in both signs and unbreakable the best he can come up with is fucking water is the key. water is his kryptonite. water is the aliens kryptonite.
oh and good point... It wasn't raining anywhere in the entire world was it. |

When I was signs I hated it and thought it one of the worst, cheesiest movies I'd ever seen.
I was amazed when I found out that a lot of people actually really loved this movie to the point of praising it. Just a thought.
