The Adventures of Tintin - B+: They should totally make a 5th Indiana Jones movie in the style of this movie.

Human Centipede II - D: Why the hell did I watch this?

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (US) - B: Original version was better.

The Hunger Games - C+
: This was ok, but I don't think it would have played as well if I hadn't read the book to fill in the gaps.

Battle Royale - A: I think this has to be the standard bearer for the "children fighting to the death until one remains" genre.

Yes, it was.

Also, same night I watched Star Wars V and liked it just as much, if not more than, the first one. I don't know if that's like blasphemy but there, I said it.

Angel Heart - B

De Niro and Mickey Rourke boning Lisa Bonet NC-17 style, pretty awesome

Winter's Bone - A-

Finally got around to this one, pretty damn good. Jennifer Lawrence is great.

Cave of Forgotten Dreams - B

Worth watching for the subject matter itself, not so much for Herzogs treatment of it

Small Town Murder Songs - B-

Decent little indie that was a little too understated for its own good

What kind of live have you had D where you've never seen the original star wars films. Kind of a shame, they're the kind of thing you need to see when you're 10

I was raised in a fundamentalist house and, while movies weren't banned or anything, my parents would usually only rent stuff for which we specifically asked. No one ever asked for Star Wars I guess. I did like the first two a lot, though.

nah dude I agree. Empire is one of the rare exceptions to the inferior sequel rule or whatever. And yeah you need to be 10 years old to like most of Jedi

Blade Runner is a real grower, you really need to immerse yourself in the world. Personally, I find the "behind the scenes" stories of how they created everything more interesting than the film itself; there are some great documentaries out there, headed by the epic "Dangerous Days". I didn't find the story grabbed me that much by itself, but I've enjoyed it a lot more since I started studying its creation; the amount of detail and work that went into the set design is mind-blowing...especially when you consider it was all done pre-digital.

I'm excited about it too, but it looks like they kinda scrimped on the budget:

they should update and upgrade to friday night lights (inspirational football movies ain't my jam, really).

not sure of rudy's whole story other than what i read on wikipedia, but the movie was just some dope who got onto a football team through begging and having everyone feel sorry for him. and i'm supposed to be touched?!
