My estranged mother showed up at my house like a renegade santa with cool gifts for my brother and I.. One gift she got me was this chanel perfume I where, but I have a full bottle so I was going to exchange it at Macy's for another...I got the $125 credit instead to look around and ended up getting a completely new bed set which I needed desperately. Everything was 50%-70% off. I got $650 worth of stuff for $250 and with the credit spent only about $150 of my own money. Got a $400 down comforter for $150 so that was the highlight of it all. Plus I got a really nice heated blanket from my grandparents which has become my new best friend, since mine moved to Australia last week =/

She also hand painted a ceramic pot all black with the Bruins logo and put calla lilly bulbs and a coco peat disk in it which you grow and then plant outside and they grow back every year (I do gardening/landscaping in the summer for extra $ for people which I like and they are my favorite flower...and obviously the hockey thing if you read the NHL thread). Pretty thoughtful gift I must say.

She also got me pandora charms for my bracelet, including a lady bug which I fucking hate as she knows because nobody believe me they are flesh eating savages. Inside joke thing I guess.

Here is the flower pot:

(and my heated blanket, down comforter w/ duvet cover)

a significant number of people (in my experience, at least) will colloquially refer to any sort of athletic shoe as a tennis shoe

i used to but stopped a while ago 'cause it does seem kind of weird.

Goose down comforters are universally expensive though, depending on fill, stitching, weight, etc. I have been searching for a new one for weeks. I slept in my new bed for the first time last night and combined with my heated blanket I felt like I was back in the womb. Divine.

I have no idea. I don't know a whole lot about recording home demos, but was reading up on it the other day. If anyones got tips in recording I'd love to hear em.

I got a $100 computer keyboard, it's a Leopold mechanical one, built to last for many years. It has these 'Red Cherry' switches under the keys that only require 35 grams of actuation force, and it doesn't get much more sensitive than that. It's entirely for playing Worms, which requires me to tap like a motherfucker.

Of course, regular rubber dome keyboards can be made super sensitive, you just have to unscrew the back and put a small amount of paper under your desired keys, until it feels like typing on a brick. I did that for years, though it's not 100% stable and it's a hassle since regular keyboards can get out of whack over time.

Not sure who here does much computer gaming, but look at this mechanical keyboard guide to learn everything you never wanted to know: http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/me...keyboard-guide
