Cool tobes, how are you liking it? (I'm guessing pretty well, 10 hours already jesus)

I got nothing, and gave nothing. First year it's worked out perfectly like that. Though my aunt is going to buy me a pair of shoes sometime this week, so there's that. I bought myself some business casual attire that I need a couple weeks ago so that's pretty awesome.

I guess you know you're an adult when clothes start being good gifts.

husband and i did stocking stuffers. in lieu of a "big gift," we each put some $ in savings toward our trip. i got:
necklace
underwear
candy
books (mindy kaling and the 69 love songs 33 1/3)
ornament that looks like gummi worms

i gave him:
m83 & magnetic fields tickets
a soft moon 12", wham!'s last xmas/everything she wants double a-side 45, mag fields 'get lost' on vinyl
candy
underwear
a record brush

got $ from parents and grandparents.

dude's cousin gave us a whisky set. obvious regift, we don't really drink whisky, but she was awesome to have us over for her delicious turkey dinner.

exchanging more gifts on new years eve. i'm 99% sure my brother in law that drew me in the not so secret santa draw got me the gish boxset.

I was at Kops on Friday! Love dat store, I always spend like, an hour there just browsing their 45's. But I hate that they never have Daniel Johnston or Sebadoh albums in stock. Have you been to the basement record store at Queen and Carlaw?

I've been there too, several times. A guy named Dwayne worked there for quite some time but he quit (I suppose he had an argument with the upstairs manager...), he was a chill bro though, got along with him very well, I remember having to cross the street to that community centre just to use the washroom.

My dad also put some money to rugby challenge for xbox the other day when I didn't have my wallet on me. I don't think he is expecting to be paid back.

i got a monitor for my computer, because normally its just hooked up to the tv which isn't ideal for photo editing and other things.

i got a toaster oven, because the timer went in my old one and i had to tear it apart and re-wire it to make it work and its probably a fire hazard.

i got a bunch of books. classics, since i've read very little fiction so i figured i should start with some of the best before branching off.

my main present to my mom was not going on any anti-religion diatribes, and biting my tongue when she bitched about people saying 'happy holidays' and claiming that we were here first and they [brown people] can leave if they don't want to celebrate christmas. i also went to church twice in less than a twenty-four hour period.

Dad gave me two books (signed copy of Jimmy Brosch Remembers 20 Legendary Texas Czech Polka Bands and Don't Get Above Your Raisin' - Country Music and the Southern Working Class) and an Allen Oldies Band 45.
Mom gave me some money, a scarf, a shit ton of socks, a tervis tumbler and a bag of chocolates.

Dad always gives me awesome random stuff, and I love it.

that sounds like a list of things that could form a time machine, had the plot gotten thinned enough.
