question: importing audio files from a CD

i haven't done this in several years. i used to do it in itunes and encode to mp3 with 320 variable bit rate. file size is pretty big though. i'm curious if there's a more efficient way that provides comparable quality. AAC?

im not an audiophile, but i can tell the difference btwn a 128 and a 192 mp3 pretty easily. looking for good quality, just checking if there's something that makes 320vbr overkill..

get a cable from your headphone jack to line in on your soundcard and while it's playing in cd player, record it in sound recorder

then convert to mp3 in winamp
