Default so how much boy raping is going on in sports?

I say LOTS and LOTS enough to make the Catholics blush.

i was wondering this too. i always thought homosexuality of any kind was pretty rare in (american) sports, despite the context male camaraderie and naked sweaty muscular dude flesh entails.

honestly i think it's probably more common in the grade school-level sports and gets less common as you go up to professional. i think penn state is an outlier, but you never know this could be a whole can of worms

open homosexuality is rare in sports. homosexuality is not rare. I remember hearing that one in ten dudes is gay so i like playing "guess who is gay" during NBA games

but that has nothing to do with child raping but you're trolld

i was a boy scout camp counselor actually

i remember there was this old dude i worked with and he was a straight up pedophile but i didn't have anything concrete on him. i remember when i was younger he was my counselor he would always ask me how somebody got to be so smart and good looking at my age. back then i thought he just thought i was a really awesome kid or something. it took ten years later to figure it out

pedophiles are going to go to where they can get the most exposure to their targets so all this stuff seems to be pretty self evident, it's just that we don't want to think about it at all because OF POSITIVITY! LOL! HAPPY SUNSHINE!

its a shame with scouts in particular. i'd like to do some volunteer work with my old troop but being a single near 30-something it just wouldn't fly. they ruined it for everybody

Surely not nearly enough.

The Greeks don't even have a word for rape. Let's all try to grow up a bit, people.

Interestingly the word for "pedophile" in Greek is a more positive word meaning loosely "hairy, warm, bad breath and smells like fish in my ass".

This happens anywhere there are opportunities for adults to be alone with children on an ongoing basis. It allows for grooming and milieu control which is essential for most child abuse (save the rare stranger danger cases).

As far as organized sexual exploitation, it obviously happens and on a bigger scale than most people think. But mostly you get solo offenders who use coercion and eventually threats when needed to keep kids quiet. And these kids end up walling off the experience and/or feeling like they brought it on and so they don't report it until way later (if at all).

Unfortunately I don't see how this can really change on a widespread level, unless people want to get rid of day cares/summer camps/after school programs/team sports/church/extended family etc etc etc

Immediate family members sexually assault kids too. I don't think its possible to totally get rid of it. I think we all just have to be more vigilant and observant as a society.

I agree that the real epidemic is in homes and families and not from outside agencies.

Fact is humans are shitty and hurt each other for any number of reasons. Maybe I'm just being cynical - coming from an abusive home - but it seems impossible to stop. Kids rarely rat out their parents and it is understandable why they don't (foster care, threats, they think they would get in trouble too, etc).

I am actually in favor of pedophilia being recognized in a mainstream way so that potential predators can get help for their desires before offending. This might help a little imo. As it is we don't know how many pedos offend vs those who don't. This help does occur already on a small scale for some people I'm sure.
