Claritin is THE SHIT!

been struggling with sinus problems my whole life. infections, colds, ruptured ear drums from sinus related infections.. you name it. never had any allergies that I knew of other than to Cats.

past 6 weeks i've had a horrible cough and sinus congestion. doctor swears it's not an infection but viral. to the point of sending me soon to a see specialist.

on a whim I started taking Claritin. At this point, why not! 90% of my sinus trouble disappeared!!

I've felt like such complete shit that I can't believe how good i feel now.

is this shit safe to take every day? will it kill my liver or make me grow tits?

It's a pretty safe medication. Long as you take the recommended dose it should be fine... It's just an antihistamine.

isn't it something you develop a tolerance to rather quickly? i was taking an anti-biotic earlier this year and i started breathing more clearly than i have in a long long time. probably since i was a teen. it didn't take long after that for my sinus problems to come back though. i am pretty sure i have a deviated septum that creates little vortexes of air in my nasal cavities and in turn dries out the tissue in there and induces inflammatory and infectious havoc on everything.

if you get a tolerance you can try alternating it with diphenhydramine (benadryl) but that might make you drowsy

bon-sor that sounds horrible with you nose being dried out that much. you should go to a doctor and ask him because any antihistamines could be bad for you and exacerbate the dryness

claritin is a near perfect drug. only thing is it's expensive, and the off-brands usually come in limited quantities

I had a tumor in my right ear, which has since been removed, that has made me more susceptible to similar issues. I have found that zyrtec works well for what you are experiencing.

I have a persistent nasal drip that's really annoying....it's not allergies and I'm not sick. I do smoke a lot of pot so that may be the cause of this build-up, but is there any medication that will relieve it that I can take continuously without worrying? Then again it might be genetic because my father and grandmother suffer(ed) from the same thing....
