this is what we use to measure showfall in michigan. the top of that gauge is 390 inches, which marks the record high snowfall in 1979.

winter is what 4 wheel drive is for.

Wow, that's rough. We had no power for about 15 days after hurricane Wilma in 2005. It was miserable. Here's hoping it gets back on soon. Does the power company have an info on when it might be back up?

The houses across the street from us were told today they'd get power at the earliest Saturday. They are beyond pissed since they are the last in the township to get power back.

IIRC there are still something like 150,000 without power around here.

This storm wasn't a disaster for the amount of the snow (we often get 1'+ storms with no problems), it was the snow was the heaviest possible falling on trees that haven't lost their leaves yet.
