Default melancholy

sometimes you just need to eat a tub of ben and jerry's chunky monkey, listen to the cure, and let it all out, you know?

what sad things do you wallow in, feeling so bad that you feel good?

inspired by the eternal sunshine discussion, which when i thought of that movie i remembered who i watched it with, where we went after that, and how art like that can be so poignant that it hurts to witness it, but has a deep source of comfort at its very core

I avoid anything that makes me feel right now.

Eating ice cream would make me more depressed, I don't eat ice cream basically.

I love The Cure, I love their 1981-1992 period, I bought Staring At The Sea when I was only eleven and it blew me away! Then I listened to Disintegration when I was thirteen and I fell in love, then a month later from that, I bought Wish and then I immediately knew I was a hardcore fan...Faith is truly one of the best albums I've ever heard.

the other night i sat in the dark and blasted the arcade fire's "suburbs" album while timidly playing along on my acoustic guitar. album touched me like it hadn't before.

Speaking of Disintegration, I need to listen to that album again, it was played so many times on my old record player that the needle wore out, I remember listening to 'Untitled' and thinking "Wow...I've discovered something BEAUTIFUL!"

smashing pumpkins fans are forbidden to use the word "melancholy" word unless referring to the actual album

Yeah well I'm not over it yet.

When I want to wallow I guess I listen to music that doesn't have words like Thomas Newman soundtracks and whatnot and sit outside and look at stars.

i'm trying to think of what i did when i was upset over a break-up... i would lay in bed and cry all day and get super drunk every night but not post on the internet. posting is hard work. breaks up don't really bother me anymore. then again, i haven't been in a long relationship or loved anyone in years.

sorry, kel. you go on with your sad self!

that would fall under watching tv and a little bit of accomplishing tasks. i often use netphoria as a warm-up exercise for further internetting/computing.

I'm afraid to drink since I got my meds upped. I don't want to call him in a drunk haze telling him to come over or something. Also drinking alone makes me very upset and restless. Im posting mostly cause I'm lonely and want people to talk to.

Tinychat may be something I decide to do later. I don't know the customs for that kind of thing on netphoria.

Makes sense. Trees have historically supported liberty. The constitution is made from a tree that sacrificed itself to thwart the British by hiding our boys from the red coats. Guess how many trees are in Iraq? Thats right.

i hate that i can hear someone like you all the time everywhere now cuz i have to tune it out. if i listen it makes me cry ;_;

I drive around alone in my car chain-smoking cigarettes listening to whatever's on shuffle. i figure the universe can choose my music when i'm sad and maybe it'll choose something that helps. it usually does.
