i know all my 9 tables because it's remarkable to me how they switch digits after six you know so its

09
18
27
36
45
then the flip
54
63
72
81
90

after that it's not but that is kind of curious

i feel like no matter where i go in life i always feel like this, whether i'm unemployed living with my parents or independent and responsible i'm always continuously alone and there seems to be absolutely nothing i can do to change that without becoming an entirely different person, and that is essentially impossible and people who don't have these problems never ever understand that because they think it's easy because for them it was relatively simple.

i feel that once i get to a point where i'm continuously "busy" i will have a nervous breakdown because i can't sleep because all i can do is dissect every single moment in my life and play editor. it's kind of like how i consistently edit nearly all of my posts six or seven times.

develop strategies for managing your relationships. you should be able to resolve most situations to your satisfaction without making things worse for others. if you can't immediately see how to do that when a situation arises, stop and think about it. you don't have to react straight away. often the best approach is simply to give someone a pointed look and say nothing.

presumably there are books and courses that deal with this sort of thing. maybe that's something to look into

8x6 is the only one of the basic times tables that I need to count out all the time. 7 and obviously 9 are easy. 6 is easy. but 6x8... idk it's just weird

i don't get what all the shit is about.
trots asked a light question, just thinking out loud i guess, some guy was an asshole and came off condescending, trots retaliated and that's that.
luke, you seriously think a 'pointed look' would have given any better of a result?
it's still passive-aggressive to the same point, just in a different way. it's like with kids, if you let people stomp on you, you will be stomped on continuously. none of us is some behavioral expert or something. even if trot's reaction was a bit harsh and he should pick his battles, what was there to do, sit there and take the BURN from a couple of douchebags, and have this open the door for more confrontations like this in the future?

Please tell me I'm not going to peak again.....we bought nine hits of acid to split between six people, and dealer assumes all nine are for one person and puts all the hits on one cube....guess who got the lucky cube. DO NOT take that much, but holy fuck I need to write a book.

it's kind of cool that your interaction with your co-worker made you think this hard about your life

I hate this one co-worker of mine because he's so arrogant despite being pretty dumb and sucking at what he does. The people that hear it the most from him are the people who react to his snobbery. I have given him a dirty look, but most of the time I just ignore him. He doesn't actually bother trying to interact with me. I win.

Not sure that's a better result, effectively ending communication with a coworker, but at least I don't have to deal with him.

Office life, in my experience, is full of really stupid people, most of whom make a lot more money than I do.

This is from years of depression and being told you're a piece of shit. Seriously, trots, you need therapy to deal with this stuff. It's complicated, ingrained shit that will take a while to change. I used to feel entirely like you are describing. Hope you are doing better this eve

absolutely. it says "what you just said was stupid and i'm not going to dignify it with a response" and people get it instantly. going on the verbal offensive, on the other hand, is just playing into their hands

no it isn't, it's direct non-verbal communication. making a general remark from which you intend someone to derive specific, targeted criticism from, however, is totally passive-aggressive

jesus christ as soon as i posted that i knew some jerk would be all "DURR NOT ALL THE TIME HURRR"

i was generalising. not everyone will get it instantly. most will, however, and those who don't will USUALLY (that good enough for you, mr literal?) get it after a slightly extended period of Disappointed Face.

anyone who's completely oblivious is either on the autism spectrum, blind, or probably not worth talking to in the first place

exactly. the "stomped on" analogy doesn't quite hold when what people are looking for is a reaction. reacting lets your assailant know they scored a hit. that's the difference between schoolyard violence and verbal douchery: with the latter, letting the boot fly past is always an option. to get stomped on, first you have to let it hit you, and doing so is what prompts future attacks.

like your mother always said: don't feed the trolls

the answer is generally yes

but she can be good fun sometimes

and the fact is when you're sitting in the same room with someone for 8 hours a day you want to get along with them even if you don't want to see them after work
