i haven't had a cell phone for about 5 months.
had a smart phone until my contract ran out and i didn't want to pay 70 bucks a month just for unlimited data.
the quality of my life hasn't changed much at all. although it was the perfect little companion for when i was hanging out by myself in public, and being without one was awkward at first. but nowadays i like to picture myself in the bygone era of the early 2000's that predates the ubiquity of cell phones, and imagine what i would have done then. so i end up just looking around, thinking about things i read recently. i have a notepad for things i need to google later. i just have a house phone now and i find i return calls way more often, and i'm not stressed out about people who nag me for not immediately answering their texts or picking up the phone. and i have more cash at the end of every month. it's pretty nice. |

is a landline any cheaper than the cheapest wireless plans?
and if you don't use a phone very often a pay as you go phone would probably work for cheap too. but i guess the point is that you don't like having one. so uh. nevermind. |

i was at my parents the other day digging through my old shit and i found my cell phone circa 2005. i almost had a stroke over how colossal it was. thing was a fucking brick. mindblowing how far we've come i could never see myself using that in public now
