did the OP just discover them? I really hate to think people going back to the 90s without any context and reviving bands like Garbage and Everclear.

self-titled is still real good. version 2.0 sounds really dated but still has its moments. everything after that is just bad (with a few exceptions like Parade, Nobody Loves You, Tell Me Where it Hurts).

not bad for what was probably supposed to be a one-album experiment or whatever

it's worse. OP is probably stuck with the taste he had when he was 13.

other bands he likes will be radiohead, nin, a perfect circle and primus

you know there's a lot of underground/indie shit from the mid 90s that's worth listening to more than fucking garbage

we should make this an 90s indie/underground thread

There's a decent start.

i had to listen to garbage's 'as heaven is wide' probably eighteen hundred times thanks to the very limited gran turismo 1 soundtrack.

but as far as shirley manson is concerned: would do.

I've never heard self titled other than the singles but Version 2.0 is pretty good.

I have the first album. I can't remember what it sounds like that well actually, it's been a lot of years since I listened to it. I think I only thought it was mediocre back when I was 15, so it's probably not very good.

besides why is there so much elitism with music fucks anyway, nobody actually wants to say the obvious because then they won't be "cool" or something and we still haven't fixed the central problem that people still listen to Garbage

oh i like all those bands, it just gets tiresome when the internet tells you for the 100th time that lonesome crowded west is a good album. i'd prefer to be exposed to something new, or at least show cool different things to others
