Default Pick your fav Sound of Music song

My vote goes to Edelweis, Austria's national anthem.

"The New York Times and The Guardian have both reported that Ronald Reagan had it performed for an emissary of Austria when he visited the United States, believing it to be their national anthem."

I've never seen Sound of Music.

/And not that it makes any difference, but it's "Edelweiss"

Oh I don't officially vote for anything, FoaT. Too binding and polls are usually rigged. On a semi-related note, I made my ex boyfriend watch this movie shortly before we broke up. I typically don't pay any attention to musicals, but my mom likes this one so I guess I find it adorable and sentimental. That kid Kurt always freaked me out a bit......kinda always thought he would grow up to be a serial killer or a Jesus freak. Let's see.....OH HOLY FUCK. Apparently it is him in Glee. This also makes perfect sense.

Probably the only thing that will get me to vote EVER will be legalization or something else that personally affects me. Not that I believe my vote will do anything, but how could I justify pure neglect over something I care about?

because you know congress and the president never do anything that personally affects you since you don't know about it while you're scavaging for weed.

I know very little about politics and that is quite intentional. Societies based on survival instead of pure devotion to learning and growth sicken me. So selfish.

In this book The God Of Small Things, there is this little 7 year old boy that gets molested but in the scenes surrounding that his family is watching The Sound of Music and he keeps singing "But how do you make her stay? And listen to all you say?" It fucking cracks me up...

A he'll of a lot of Austrians have never seen Sound of Music. It isn't a big deal there except for the tourist companies in Salzburg. Which we took this past December and I wanted to murder everyonewith us. Fuck tours, man.

One of the best movies ever. My favorite is 16 Going on 17. I like its cadence.

I had to pick 16 going on 17, not only bc of the song itself, but also the dance...I always loved that scene as a little girl.
