In all seriousness, what the Serbian army (backed by most of their population and the religious leaders) did in Bosnia, parts of Croatia, and Kosovo is beyond comprehension. But all sides were brutal to each other. The Serbs just happened to have most of the Yugoslavian armies weapons, artillery, tanks, planes, etc. and a larger population. My uncle, who is a "Bosnian Serb" by default because of his orthodox last name (which is bullshit since he's really a Bosnian Polack) barely escaped with his life. Terrible, terrible shit. I'll never forget visiting Bosnia three years after the conflict and watching my 80 year old grandpa crying because his hometown was turned to rubble. Fuck all nationalists. The poor Muslims (who happen to be Slavs) suffered the worst since they were the minority in Bosnia.

But I'm rambling.

pick up How Soccer Explains the World, the first chapter is a harrowing glimpse into the Serbian fascist state under Milosevic (and yes, it does have to do with soccer somewhat) and the rest of the book is super too.

Yeah, but this was over Kosovo. No one gave a shit about Bosnia until it was too late. They just sent peacekeepers who weren't authorized to use their weapons. Great strategy, western powers.
