you prefer hummus? innnnerestin. it's the opposite over here. had a huge family dinner at a middle eastern restaurant the other night and split a dinner for 2 deal with the husb. the babaganoush was wiped clean pretty quickly between the 2 of us. the hummus was good, but i liked it best when i put it on the fried eggplant (heaven!!!)

maybe it's just the places i've been but baba ganoush is fairly bland to me. it reminds me of gruel, actually.

you're talking strictly lunch though in which you half a half hour. i don't see why a sandwich with fruit salad and/or cottage cheese isn't the most reasonable option. load that fucking sammie up with spinach and some sort of sprouts plus whatever else and you're good to go.

don't over-think this - not eating meat isn't crazy difficult especially when it's just for lunch. do you usually eat heavy/full-meal-style lunches?

If you like cottage cheese, you should definitely be eating it. 13-16 grams of protein in half a cup, depending on the brand!

I have been eating Dr. Praeger's California veggie burgers for lunch this week. I really like them. They don't taste like they are trying to be burgers, which makes them more enjoyable than most other brands.

no, but a spinach sandwich with bean sprouts doesn't sound very tasty. I'm looking for things I want to eat, not something i just force down my throat because I have to. I know lots of people treat food this way, but I am a fat man and even if I lose weight i'll be a fat man at heart.

I love it. I'm lame and eat the no salt added variety, which is not as good as the regular, so you probably shouldn't start there. But yes, you should try it.

why does that even matter

just follow a recipe and if there's something about the outcome you don't like, think about how you could change the process to improve the result next time

it's just really basic chemistry, just apply a little thought and you'll be fine. now STOP WHINING and get your ass into culinary gear, son

First, I don't like cooking much at all dude. I don't get that satisfaction when I sit down with a meal i spent 30-45 mins of labor on. All I can think of was how much of a pain in the ass it was and I'm never happy with anything I make anymore.

and there's no way to know if it's "right" or "wrong" tasting if you've never had it made by a professional, so I think it matters a whole lot.

I dunno why this is such a strange concept to you.

the other problem is that my roommates are terrible cooks so I'm the only one that puts any effort into anything, they sit there after eating enchiladas verde with this orgiastic look of glee and then the next night we're having dime store beef sausage in macaroni & cheese with that Sirracha sauce covering all of it for dinner.

So it's especially not worth it then, since the favor is never returned.
