LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- A Walt Disney World reservations worker arrested for allegedly raping a park guest bonded out of jail Thursday night. Detectives say he attacked a woman in her room at the Caribbean Beach Resort (see map).

Investigators say 31-year-old Wilbert Brookins used his employee status to give the woman and her family a discounted hotel rate and free park tickets, and then raped her.

WFTV reporter Mark Boyle confronted Brookins as he left the Orange County Jail Thursday night and asked what he thought about the serious allegations made against him. Brookins responded, “They aren’t serious to me.”

Orange County Sheriff's Office investigators say the Disney reservations agent used his position to target his victim. According to the arrest report, the victim asked for a cheap rate because she's a single mom bringing her kids on vacation and doesn't have a lot of money.

“Did you take advantage of her because she’s unemployed,” Reporter Mark Boyle asked. “No,” said Brookins

Investigators said Brookins told her "he was raised by a single mom and knew how it feels to want and had a lot of respect for women." Brookins told the woman on the phone he could give her a Friends and Family rate and, according the arrest report, the victim "made a point to tell the suspect that she was not willing to trade sexual favors for what he was doing. Brookins replied that he 'wouldn't dare think of that.'"

Investigators say Brookins booked the woman and her kids under the discount rate and, when they arrived, Brookins helped them to their room. Deputies say, a few hours later, Brookins took the family into the Magic Kingdom and got them in for free.

The arrest report indicates the victim was getting tired and wanted to take her kids back to the hotel. Once there, the victim says she and her kids fell asleep, and Brookins was watching TV. The victim told investigators "she closed her eyes and must have fallen asleep because she felt the suspect trying to pull her pants down from the left side of her hip."

Sex crimes detectives said the victim woke up to the Disney employee raping her. According to investigators, the woman "jumped out of bed, tired, disoriented, and saying, 'Why would you do that? I'm sleeping! Go!'"

The victim reported what had happened Wednesday, the same day Brookins was arrested. WFTV found Brookins has a criminal past in the state of Maryland. He pleaded guilty to several theft charges and has been arrested for disorderly conduct.

A Disney spokeswoman said employees don’t necessarily have to have a clear record to be hired. Each person is hired on a case by case basis.

Brookins was immediately put on unpaid leave and Disney officials said they are in the process of firing him.
