Default House votes to eliminate funding for public broadcasting

This would eliminate many NPR/PBS/APM stations and even more of its programs eliminated. Senate to hear the bill the week of Feb. 28.

It probably gets back on the senate. I was in DC 2 days fighting this bullshit.

But yes the GOP is trying to cut the deficit by putting gum in the busted dam. $1.30annuallt for a family goes to public broadcasting.

Eliminate your own program GOP - medicare - and then I'll be impresse with your actions.

Hopefully that Boehner rumor is true.

On average, it is 20 percent of the budget. For small stations, it is much higher. We have a staff of 96 and this would eliminate 28 jobs and eliminate our programs. And financially we are a top 20 affiliate. This would crush many stations.

Osmond, if you think this impacts only news from NPR, you are say mistaken.

I love how the GOP doesn't look at the biggest elephant in the room, the fucking insanely bloated military budget. Start there and the deficit is greatly reduced.

I'd think the overwhelming numbers opposed to that could stop that from occurring. But apathy rules so who knows.

$1.5 Qaudrillion of unregulated debt in derivatives and this is making the news cycles, ay?

nothing to see here, move along. pay no attention to the man behind the curtain with the printing press. But by all means, keep hacking at each other while the elites get away with murder, genocide, starvation, fraud, currency devaluation, energy manipulation, etc. etc. etc.

it all started when BBC America took away Benny Hill and PBS stopped as well. It's been downhill ever since.

but PBS should stick around just for that narrator's voice on Frontline.
