does anyone listen to anybody anymore? I feel like everyone in this generation is so self absorbed that if it's not about them or some kind of witty line like we live in televison they just completely tune it out.

I know what you mean. I went to a party recently, and felt pretty disillusioned about how wrapped up people are with their fucking pointless lives. Every time I spoke it was just the time in-between them telling me about their amazing lives/pointless celebrity/tv bullshit.

Oh and on the topic of long talkers, I have an old mate who I've known for 16 years, and his mind has been utterly ravaged by drug abuse. Sometimes he calls me and just goes on 1.5 hour monologues. Normally I just put him on loudspeaker, go away for 10 mins and he is still at it. He talks exactly like the guy in this sketch

as soon as i realize that a conversation is going to be more than a couple of minutes i start to get really antsy. i feel like you can read it all over my face that i don't give a fuck. obviously this applies to those people who constantly feel the need to waste your time with their overbearing nonsense.

this is why i hate facebook and hate myself for having one. i went to delete it the other day and just ended up deleting some "friends". you're not my friend! i can count my friends on less than one hand and the best one has never had an online profile of any kind.

Yep, I'd completely agree with that. The best thing I discovered about facebook is that you can mute/kill irritating feeds. Before that I was deleting countless people.
