not usually sleepy although i do a lot, but i often feel very weak and exhausted at inappropriate times. like slow and weak. why is this happening? a while back i used to get this after i worked to hard and id just eat something and be fine but its not going away. if it is a issue of nutrition, what foods will help fight this? what kinda foods give long term energy

I have anemia and I had those symptoms before I found out I had it. I also bruised easily, was sometimes dizzy and experienced vertigo. Anyway, they put me on iron pills, which taste HORRIBLE, but help. Maybe you should try eating foods high in iron or supplements and see if some of your symptoms disappear. Hope you feel better soon!

According to the little magnet I got from the blood bank, there foods are the highest in iron:
Clams Oysters Shrimp Enriched Oatmeal Cream of Wheat Fortified Cold Cereals Soy Beans Soy Milk Tofu Beans and Lentils Asparagus Bagels Beef Enriched Pasta Baked Potato w/skin Tomato Juice Avacado Beets Whole Wheat Bread |

yeah, chances are that if you did find out you had glandular/mono fever, it'd be a very minor case, and all you'd have to do is change your diet a bit and take a little medicine. it is best just to know you have it though, to prevent passing it onto anyone also

also, do you work out? Upping your metabolizm may help if you don't, just a brisk walk every day.
i also used to get dizyspells and slight tiredness when I was younger, apparently I didn't eat enough salt.. if you don't eat much salt in your diet, try increasing what you eat a little (after you try more iron, because that's less unhealthy to do) see if that helps |

Just go to a specialist or something, the doctor will do. They can run a couple of blood tests and check it's nothing serious |

You might want to get your thyroid/pituitary glands checked. It runs in my family to have a fucked up thyroid, and usually when that happens your pituitary gland works overtime to make up for where your thyroid is slacking, and it makes you incredibly tired/weak. They have drugs to moderate that kind of stuff, so you might want to make sure that's not a cause.

i have been suffering from anemia for the past 3 years
i take iron supplements...which dont taste like anything...so lucky me ![]() and i work out frequently...about 4 times a week and i eat often ( about 7 meals a day) and i eat well balanced meals so the combination of the meals and exercise and good sleep makes you feel better of course, you should consider getting bloodwork done cos it could be something else in your case good luck!
