Question Mr. Rhino:why won't you get a job and/or go to school?

Just curious. You seem severely agoraphobic...

I am so so so sorry that you go to the dirtiest, ugliest school one could ever imagine. A commuter school nonetheless.

Not to mention the school with arguably the worst student newspaper at a four-year university in this entire country. Assuming El Posado still exists.

Tres colores baby.

You couldn't be more sorry than I am, I'm pretty certain. I'm stuck here. And you're absolutely right about the paper, I'm half-assedly working for it, but I think I'm just going to write the baseball stories every season rather than be a full time writer for them.

You also forgot to mention that the drama club is an amateur organization made up of no talent assclowns.

1. The overabundance of old people.
2. The complete lack of campus life.

#1 is true and undisputed if it weren't for the fact that the student that's amde the greatest impression on me so far here is over 40. His infectious enthusiasm for the subject at hand is so inspiring it raises the level of interest of the classroom. Of course, he happens to be one of the smartest people i've ever met, so that may be part of it.

#2- i don't give a shit because i AM a commuter and have no campus life.

Most of the old people at UTSA are former veterans and are completely closeminded. Old students never like the professor and complain about every assignment they are given. You can tell why they dropped out in the first place.

Plus, they look like tourists.

There is a major difference between SDSU and UTSA. The most important one being that UTSA is a branch school and SDSU has its own Board of Trustee/Regents or whatever.

SDSU is a good school and UTSA is mediocre school.

San Diego seems like a neat town and San Antonio is hell if you plan on spending more than a weekend.

I thought SDSU was a party school though too. That's what I heard from my aunt who went there in the 80's. I guess the times change.

Dude, I take issues with that paper. I visited campus Friday morning because I am on the UC Expansion Committee for SFA and we were looking at facilities. I am also the editor of The Pine Log.

Well, I pick up a paper and notice in the top it says Texas' ONLY Independant Newspaper. That's fucking bullshit.

The Pine Log receives absolutley no revenue or assistance from the University and only income is from ad sales. On the Opinions page, it clearly states you have advisors and are based from a educational grant, which is university assistance.

I will be calling your offices Monday morning stating these facts to get the lie off the masthead of the newspaper.

Thank you and have a good nite. /rant.

Who gives a fuck? Really. You need to fucking chill out. No one is impressed with the fact that you are the editor of the Stephen F. Austin student newspaper. It's not the Daily Texan, d00d.

As far as university assistance goes, the Paisano gets absolutely no money from the university and furthermore does not even use campus facilities and publishes the paper through the San Antonio Express-News. UTSA doesn't even have a journalism major availiable. The Paisano has an advisor merely because there is a professor on campus who volunteers to advise them, nothing more.

I'd have to disagree with that.

I met SP at a college newspaper convention/contest whatever the fuck.

You really can't judge a school newspaper by the school. At least not as a general rule.

I was the editor-in-chief during my senior year at G-Tech and trust me, there are at least 7-10 better school newspapers in Georgia than ours. But there are certainly not 7-10 better shcools in GA than Tech.

Likewise, we get utterly destroyed at this national competition every year whereas SP's paper actually fairs pretty well, or at least they did that year, and according to him they usually do well.

Point of fact: The State News at Ball State and whatever the fucking paper at Missouri-Columbia is called win 90% of the major awards. Ball State is not that great of school. But their student newspaper is awesome.

That said, his post was a little over the top. I think he's been sexually deprived as of late.

Well yes I know this. I was sports editor for my high school paper. Our school was a poor ass school in East Austin, but our paper was top notch. We won Gold Star awards in texas in 96 and 98, and Silver Star awards in 95, 97 and 99. And a Bronze Star award in 2000. The staff won many individual awards and we were bar none the best high school newspaper in Austin.

I'm just cutting sppunk down because he's acting like a dipshit about the Paisano's masthead.

SDSU is still a party school, but apparently it used to be fuckin crazy or something. I heard stories of kids walking drunk around campus and passing out in class. I haven't seen ANYTHING likke that and I haven't heard much about party kids or whatever, but apparently we still have that rep cos playboy voted us the #10 party school. We have hot girls, though, I'll giv eyou that. although they all look like clones to me.
