I'm pretty sure I'd never get more than one tattoo. If that.

You're all crazy.

I hate tattoos on girls in general, but yours is tasteful and sexy.

i've said this on here before and i know people are going to yell at me and i am not over-generalizing, i am just stating what's happened to me in my experiences w/ my own life...

ok now that the long disclaimer is done...

in my experience, girls w/ tattoos and piercings are easy

that is all.

(and it's not a bad thing)

i think the idea of a tattoo is cool (that whole notion of permanently marking yourself with a representation of an idea, event or change that really shook your inner being is cool), provided you don't get something bland and generic, but in reality i just don't like the way 99% of them end up looking like on the person/part they're placed on.
the two exceptions I can think of :
one woman at the beach had this kind of flowery vine extending from the top of her foot and disappearing in between the 1st two toes. fuckin amazing.

this one guy I dated had a tattoo around his right nipple.. it kinda encircled the top of it and then branched out a bit towards his shoulder in this kind of spiralling flame. The tattoo almost had a presence... like i could keep seeing it in the dark when we were having sex even though I couldn't actually see it. really cool. 'cept for when he gets old and fat and his nipples get bigger he'll be in trouble.

those are the only two tattoos i can think of that i actually like. and those lower back tattoos... i just don't dig 'em.

That's bullshit and you know it. You don't get tattoos to be cool, to fit in, to look tough, piss your parents off, or impress anybody. Now granted, any one of those things might be a side-effect of getting a tattoo.

But when you get a tattoo, you do it because there's something that's so important to you that you want to make it a permanent part of who you are, for the rest of your life. If you're doing it for any of those other reasons, then you shouldn't be getting tattooed, because then you will regret it in ten years. Which is stupid.

When you get a tattoo, it shouldn't be despite its permanence, it should be because it's going to last forever. The rest is just extraneous details.

Only on girls? What's the deal with that, anyway?

My boyfriend's got a similar thing, where he doesn't have a problem with guys having tattoos, but he hates them on girls. It's weird. Best we can figure is he must have a bit of a skin fetish - since he's always attracted to and tends to date women with like, exceptionally beautiful skin. (I only know this because he points it out - I don't think I'd ever pay attention to anyone's complection otherwise, unless it was *really* bad or something. ) So it really bothers him to see it covered up - but since he's not attracted to guys, he couldn't care one way or the other.

Heh. Yeah, I can imagine. Fortunately my friends and I had some old letters and things he'd written, so I got the artist to copy it off one of those.

I've met a few people who've gotten peoples' signatures tattooed on them...mostly when they've gotten rock stars' autographs n stuff.

If I was attracted to men, I might say the same thing about them.

I'm also not a big fan of makeup on women. I love natural beauty. I think tattoos, in general, taint that natural beauty that a woman possesses.

I think big muscles look better on dudes than on chicks as well. I suppose perhaps I don't view ink as "feminine."

Of course here comes the onslaught of "not me!" but then again, everyone says that.
Mine is very small, simple and located in a spot that no one can ever really see unless I'm in a bikini or I show them. So even if I do regret it, which I obviously doubt I will, it's not that big a deal.

Wow, are those real? Beautiful. I love sleeves, I think they're so sexy. I wish I had the guts to get my arms or my legs done, but it'll never happen. (Plus, it would make my boyfriend totally miserable, and defy my "Nothing that can't be concealed while wearing formalwear" rule.)

I'll just have admire other peoples'. My friend Ryan's been getting his arms done, and I haven't seen him in almost a year...I can't wait to see how much more he's had done when I get home.
