Years ago I got in by stealing my girlfriend's account. I had registered and was ignored a couple times, but my gf's account was approved (by fluke? or because she had a girly username?). She got bored and I took her account and renamed it. Then of course, last december the board was reset and I got in because they were just approving all registrations at that moment. Just bide your time, I guess. Or pretend to be a female.
