I didn't get laid off from freelancing, I got laid off from an in-office copy editing gig. I'm looking for a freelance gig to prevent this shit from happening in the future.

Oh, actually, I don't drink. It's only hard drugs for me. Now that you mention it, though, I really don't think my various addictions have caused me this loss. I hardly believe my LSD habit caused these companies to close. In fact, I haven't missed a single day of work in over 3 years. I've never received so much as a mean look about my work.

Also, I'm thinking fucking people's moms might actually be a fine job prospect. The hours are decent, the pay is great, but the stench is more than most can handle. I've done enough drugs to outweigh the negatives.
