Default Pay what you want at Panera?

Nonprofit Panera Restaurant: Pay What You Want At Pilot Location

How will this work? How can they stop it from being overrun by homeless people?

First person to bring up NIN or Radiohead in their argument gets shot in the face.

i am actually curious as to what people think about this

what would you pay if you got, say, a half sandwich, some soup, a side, and a drink? it normally comes out to about $9, I believe. I can imagine throwing down $5 and feeling ok about it. Any less and I'd probably feel guilty unless I was completely broke and was scraping quarters together.

There will always be people to take advantage of the situation. Do you really need a sandwich, soup, a side, and a drink if you're low on cash? But then again, to some people, free is free.

I'd throw down $3-$5 for half a sammy and a small pop.

it would be awesome if this worked. i feel like it would be better if they charged the lowest amount possible, like at cost, and you could pay more than that as you wanted. or something.

Panera has raped so many people for years with its shitty and insanely overpriced food everyone should take as much as they can eat - and pay only pennies on the dollar.

I like panera, sounds cool.

I wonder if they use lesser products to cut back on the overhead.

I think the last time I had Panera was 2003. Has it changed much?

for the quality of food, it's not that overpriced

you can get about the same amount of food that you can at arby's for the same price or less

We have a place here that's run by Hare Krishna's that works the same way - pay by donation at the end of your meal. Big buffet style thing, really good food. They get away with it cause the whole thing is so pious and humble and shit that you feel really bad if you don't pay what your meal was worth.
