Marbled vinyl looks great. Strange there is not label sticker on it though. Also I see they're hitting up the alchemy & mysticism woodcuts for artwork once again.

There should be the d/l before then though surely?

I'd also doubt that's what the finished record will look like... also surely it should need a paper sleeve to prevent damage?

Still unsure whether to bother picking this up or not... never thought I'd say that about a Pumpkins release

this is the plain evil! the eye of horus or of this one-dollar-note pyramid! this is conspiracy stuff. plus some stupid mandala-like cover...

look, if we really love the music we would carve a woodbox ourselves for it and maybe someone would chisel a fucking obelisk. ;-) so it`s just an argument for people who really love this music and usually these people are fans.... ... but these songs ain`t good enough and not worth having "fans". for sure they`re worth having listers and that someone pays for the music itself. and if someone really listens to these songs regulary he should pay for the music. but then just for the music itself not for expensive collector items...

so maybe really really "fan"atic and little stupid people will buy this... also I was thinking the obelisk would be far taller... I`m disappointed, so I have no reason to buy... I will buy for some muffins but I want a certificate that corgan has made them and not linda strawberry!

Anyone else think it's hilarious that such beautiful, elaborate packaging will be enclosing shit like Widow Wake My Mind? Like, I look at packaging such as this and think that it must contain some pretty great music. But in actuality, it's filled with some of Billy's most shallow, most repetitive work.

Yeah, because Billy's word is any more credible than Linda's these days.

that thing looks like a small, watery turd put to dry and harden under the sun in an obelisk-shaped mould

those days may have gone though, since he can do the pop appeal more so but the lyric content will be dark so that will work. I hope

It just occurred to me how fucking small that is...

At first I was like... "Sweet lord, what's up with the lazer disk?" then I was like "Oh right... CD and vinyl 45"... then I looked at the Obelisk.

Nearly $30 for that?

The 7" is fucking pretty though. It looks like Neptune or Uranus or something.

How far back in the history of humour do Uranus/your anus jokes go?

That is nice artwork. I prefer it over the watercolor drawings, which I wasn't a fan of. It was too whimsical for my liking. By the way, the artwork is by Jacob Boehme, a 16th century christian mystic. The words (the eye and ring piece) mean "the longer, the better"

Dudes stuff looks very Machina Bolly-esque.

Sorry, I should clarify. The artwork is in Boehme's original books. I don't think the illustrator is specified. If I remember correctly, that particular piece was from his book, "the way of christ".
