oh cool! great -- had in mind maybe a nice seafood place. or sushi. or a great steakhouse. or a french place. any of those would do. thank you. how about whistler, are you familiar with that area?

Yes! Whistler is amazing. One of my favorite places in the country. I visited there every winter for 5 years while I was out west.
As for Van. restaurants...There's a place called the cannery in that has great seafood, especially if you're looking for something close to the water. Which I always was. It's very nice there. Gotham steakhouse is good. Though, also, if you're wanting something more touristy or something more for locals makes a difference. |

I can recommend this sushi place:
Honjin Sushi 138 Davie Street 604 688 8808 Friend who knows sushi took us there last summer. We tried a pretty wide palette of their stuff and everything was very good. |

I used to work at a restaurant there like 8 years ago.. Wild Garlic restaurant. It had great food, asian fusion with a heavy garlic emphasis. I don't know if it's still around, but I'd certainly go there.
